Dale Earnhardt Junior was on pace to post his best road course finish ever and possibly have a chance to contend for the win until his engine let go with some 30 laps left in Sunday's race. Junior was shown as finishing 42nd in the race which dropped him to 14th in the points, 100 points away from 12th place Kurt Busch. With only 4 races left til the Chace what are Juniors chances for getting in?

Zero and None,I don't think anyone will be giving up any slots from now to the end of the regular season. There's only a couple of races left and none Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s got any record of winning. I also am a little suspicious of the team.Isn't this the third engine failure in about four weeks?Whom ever he's got tuning his carbureter is playing a bit fast and loose with the jetting and burning up the motors. It just seems to me to be a little bit of a conspiracy going on around good old D.E.I. The moment it looked like he would make the Chase,He seems to have run into some BAD LUCK as they say.

Yea, I agree, it seems things have turned for the worse for him over the last couple of weeks, and a lot has been going on in the DEI camp, and I'm sure Junior's feeling some pressure since he's being ousted, and with DEI merging with Ginn racing I'm sure they are starting to prepare a program for next year, and I'm sure they don't want Junior and crew to know that program so they don't take any extra knowledge when they move to Hendrick. But two weeks ago Jr. was 13 points ahead of Kurt Busch and in 12th in points, then he ran second to Busch at Pocono and dropped to 7 points behind Busch. Busch I think got about a top 15ish finish on Sunday when Earnhardt fell out, theres still four races if Busch has a problem and Earnhardt does get a decent finish he could be right back in it. And Earnhardt does have wins recorded at Bristol and Richmond and runs decent at Michigan and California, so I guess we'll see. His equipment he gets from DEI over the next four races may be the deciding factor
