For the past week or so, our window air conditioner has been making a horrible grating noise. Sort of like the sound you hear when someone scrapes their nails on the chalk-board. It's annoying to say the least and our child simply can't stand it. So, most times we keep our window air conditioner off in the computer room. And, that makes it unbearable to be in there working on the computer. But today, it started spitting cold water! Does anyone know why a window air conditioner would spit cold water? Is there some way to fix the noise? Or, is it just time to throw the air-conditioner to the curb and get a new one?
