Is it possible to crash or shutdown the whole internet?

Shut down your pc and your problem is solved. If you hate it so much, then it all depends on you. You should not get into internet. You should specify the reason why you want it shutdown........if we will know the reason, then may be we will be able to discuss this matter more in details. My personal experience is that,I was like a frog in the pond before I used internet. My brain actually started to work when I entered into world of internet. Here I came to know about the bitter and sweet realities of life. I learnt about things which I would have never known if it was not for internet. Today you have to remain updated with the present progress made by world. If you will see only the disadvantages of internet and ignore its advantages , then you will remain ignorant and others will progress and leave you behind. So make a choice, take only what is good and useful for you and ignore what you don't like. That is how we have to be.......that is what I also do. Do yo agree.

I don't think so but it can happen if you can break all the computers in the world (impossible).

I do not know the answer as I do not have very cear idea about this. But think many many satelites are working up in the space getting the signal for internet, so if one gets bad the other can survive and work

Possible...and why not? It is the thing that human created. But for what?

U can't shutdown the internet:), U can crash a serstain serve but not the whole Internet.

nope there is no way you can shut down the internet because it is like a group spider web that bind together

well to do that you need to be a very good hacker or there should be a major server drop then only can the net be closed all obver causer there are lot of back up servers and even they have power backup. all in all a tough job i think

first ..my answer is no way in the world you can... because .. if you had knownfd the basics regarding networking ... you would nt have any doubt in your mind .. as internet is other wise callled as group of different networks.. internet is not a single network .. these single networks ..with the help of multiple networks ... combined to form the so called internet....... you have the meaning tht word itself .. internet... internetworks.. only thing tht is possible is tht you can crash .. a single network ... not the entire network .... so for eg ... if you have prob in india .. you will not be having a probs in us so the verdict is tht you cant .. crash the internet if you want further more regarding this ... mess me

I think thread starter is just asking if it is possible to Shutdown Internet. So, Yes, isn't it? Just Destroy everything. I mean everything, all connections, all computers, destroy also these satellites, Destroy everything that makes this Internet probable, Then No more Internet. =)

I think it is possible. Because Internet is formed only by linking or connecting billions or trillions of computers around the world. So if you will destroy this connection, or remove every single computer connected in the Internet then Internet will no longer exists. It is only very difficult to demolish all connections around the world or tear down all computers connected to stop INTERNET, but it is possible.
