I just place a couple of items on Ebay for sale, and I was wondering does giving customers a refund really increase sale.

It doesn't help much and I think it is hard to give a refund.

i put on my listings "no refund", but if they pay through paypal, and they are not happy with the item, or even if they are and just didn't want to pay in the first place,,,then paypal will refund anyway. It is ashame how that works, it only protects the buyer,,not the seller.. so just be very careful whom you sell to, look at their ratings and read their feedback.. that will help you to detemine whether or not they are good people-to a point anyway.

I did not know Paypal will refund them. I list one item and I did put refund minus shipping because I was not sure if the item is really vintage. I have a few others listed with no refunds. I will check the feedback of buyers first.

As a seller, I can say that I haven't noticed the difference since I quit offering refunds. Make sure, if you offer refunds, be very specific on your refund policy. And stick to your policy. If you are willing to accept the return of an item, having the buyer pay for the return shipping, and the item is like it was when you shipped it, then you can issue a refund. I personally don't offer refunds, especially on electronic/computer/clothing items. It hasn't hurt the business any. Not all buyers are honest. If a buyer doesn't agree with your policy, then don't sell to them. It is your item, and you have to protect yourself.

When I was selling on Ebay I didn't offer a refund policy but if there was a problem I'd try to work out and I have given refund's in certain situations. Paypal is notorious for handing out refunds whether they deserve one or not. Good luck with it!! AT PEACE WITHIN

Yes I think it will increase sale for the reason that customer will have more trust in you. However for me personally it depend on the item, if the item is a dropshipping product ( send directly from my supplier ) I will give my customer 7 days to return and give refund however postage is non refundable. But if the item that I stock for myself , I will say No but will stated in the listing Please ask question before bidding or purchasing because due to limited amount this product is non refundable...
