Did you ever wonder why....

...myLotters always seem to make their alter egos semi-literate? I've seen a bunch of people create alternate identities here, for various reasons. It is often due to account access problems, sometimes its just for fun, or the heck of it. It's usually pretty amusing, too, but it does make me wonder. The alter ego usually writes in broken English, with many mistakes and errors in grammar. Wouldn't you love to see someone do an alter which is highly intelligent, creative, and writes with stunning clarity? I would try it myself, but I'm lucky if I get a slight bit of brains in my primary identity. Don't know if I could elevate my writing that high!

Perhaps they just want to bring a little levity into the the number of doom and gloom, sick and complaining discussions.

I think maybe they are trying to add to the humor of it.. making it kind of obvious. If there was a "highly intelligent and creative" alter ego, would anyone realize it wasn't just another person? I don't really understand why people make alter egos on here, sometimes it's funny to me, sometimes I wonder what they are thinking. Lol.

Hello Gardengrrl, Geesh, I have a hard enough time stealing away the time to log-in as my genuine identity. I cannot imagine answering as more than one persona. Frankly, I was unaware of this, as a trend. I know a few folks have had account problems, and subsequently had to create a new user ID. But, I sure as shootin' wouldn't want to have to keep it all straight in my head -- what did I say to whom, and as which active persona??? Definitely not my idea of a good time. Although I will say that that Transdisc person really needs to work on his spelling and grammar! Ar, ar, ar -- TD. Love your response! You sure do have the gift to make me laugh!

I can't say I've come across this, but maybe I'm just not paying enough attention! If true, it's kind of funny actually, maybe they hope not to be identified by their writing style? Dang you'd have to create a whole new life it the person had been around for a long time and everyone knew their life's story. It would be very difficult.
