do you think that india have made use of all 60 years of independence?

I can't believe I just type a huge long response and it all disappeared. Now I have to try to remember exactly what I said LOL! I do not think India has taken full advantage of its independence to be quite frank. Many perceive India to come ahead in leaps and bounds where technology is concerned and everyone knows that the standard of education is very high over there. I am an Indian woman born and raised in London, UK. I can say with 100% confidence that if I was walking or driving home alone late at night and met a policeman in the street I would feel 100% safe about it. I am sorry to say that I do not feel that way about police in India. From all accounts and purposes, they are pretty much all corrupt and open to bribes and take advantage of women if they are alone, be it day or night time. The way police and politicians are shown in Hindi films makes them mostly out to be crooked and corrupt and no one is safe from them. Is this the way to really portray a country that has had independence for 60 years and why have these awful things not changed? Why don't the public challenge these idiots/creeps and get them out of power. Indian people are weak that's why. For too long they have accepted corruption as the norm, if the majority stood up against corruption it would not be long before it was extinct. I am not trying to offend anyone here, I am speaking my mind and a big part of me wishes Indians could be stronger and have more respect from the rest of the world. India has come a long way - I'm proud of that - but it still has a long way to go. I hope I get to see more improvements in my lifetime :)

Absolutely we made use of our independence by the way of our democracy system.
