Have you heard of the bill trying to be passed to regulate non western medicine - even vitamins will need a prescription...things like massage therapy may not be legal...what do you think?

I think that trying to require you to get prescriptions for vitamins is totally ridiculous. If it looks like this bill is going to be passed, I'm gonna go out and stock up on the vitamins that I use regularly so that I don't end up having to pay prescription prices for them! There are some non-western medicine techniques that I think probably should be regulated, but I think to regulate all medical treatment that is not prescribed by a doctor is taking it a little too far. There are way too many people in the U.S. with little to no health care availability, who keep themselves healthy through non-prescription means (e.g., vitamins or non-western techniques). I think all that regulating these things will do is cause an even bigger problem for the American population staying healthy.

Okay, yeah, that's just plain ridiculous. It's tea! People have been drinking it for centuries! Argh. The more I read about this, as well as problems with the American health system the way it is, the more I want to move to Canada.

I haven't heard of this bill. Who is trying to pass it and why? It's ridiculous. Why do they have to make things more difficult than they already are? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I love that saying, and this is a good time to use it. These people need a slap upside the head. What, are the gonna try to regulate this stuff too? They can't even keep up with the crap that they're supposed to be regulating, let alone adding anything else to this list. Who are these people? Who elects these morons? UGH!

The FDA I can't give you any links since my score is still so low - not enough posts! - but you can put relevant key words into your search engine.

Well the pharmaceutical companies have a lot of power - its where the money is and in this world - money talks! My midwife wanted me to take a narcotic during pregnancy for migraines(I didn't) but they're all against things like accupuncture or relaxing teas. They say there isn't enough research. Really its the money.
