Wondering if anybody is listening to any thrash metal. I basically see the same three or four bands mentioned over and over, and I'd like to see what else people are listening to. I've recently re-discovered Kreator after a long, long absence, and have been constantly listening to their two newest albums over and over. Mille Petrozza can come up with riffs on par with the best of them, and Jurgen Reil is just a kickass drummer. Anybody else like these guys? Or anything else that doesn't start with Me_______? Sound off!:)

Hey, I found a really good thrash band a couple weeks ago called Demolition Hammer. They're on that mean, brutal side of thrash, similar to Slayer and Kreator. Actually, Kreator is a really good comparison. The vocals are similar, but I think I like DH's better. Really fast, heavy stuff.

Epidemic of Violence, good album ;) Here's another couple you might wanna check out... 3 Headed Monster - Self-titled Blistered Earth - Self-titled Carcariass - Killing Process Her Whisper - Children Of The Black Soil (kinda epic and power-y, but good) Hurtlocker - Fear In A Handful of Dust (more hardcore than thrash) Necronomicon - Construction of Evil Nocturnal - Arrival Of The Carnivore (slightly black vocals, but tolerable) Powerglove - Metal Kombat For The Mortal Man (take thrash, and mix in old NES and Genesis music - it's genius!) Raintime - Flies & Lies (similar to Her Whisper) Terror 2000 - Faster Disaster Violator - Chemical Assault Wolfbrigade - Prey To The World (hardcore) And a couple of my old, overlooked favorites: Metal Church (first three albums) Nuclear Assault Pro-pain(!) Oh, and have you ever heard of Mastery? ;)

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations. I've already got Blistered Earth's debut, and both Raintime albums. I've got 1 or 2 Metal Church, and maybe a couple others on the list, but most of 'em I haven't heard of, or barely at all. Powerglove sounds really cool! Mastery? Hmmm. . .who's that? You wouldn't happen to know anyone who's nearly (or who some might say is definitely) a fanboy, would ya? Hahaha, I wouldn't go quite that far, but they were just one of those bands that for some reason had a huge impact on me. If I hadn't already loved thrash, then that would have instantly hooked me. I actually reviewed their album at http://leviatan-magazine.com a couple weeks ago. I tried curbing my enthusiasm a bit and gave it a 9.5 lol.

Nice review! Thoughtful and well-written :) As for the bands, if you've never heard/heard of Pro-pain, they're one of my old-time favorites, if that tells you anything. http://www.bnrmetal.com/v2/bandpage.php?ID=Prop Pretty much any of their albums is a worthy introduction. But hey, Blistered Earth - pretty good, huh?:) And Raintime was something kinda different when I found 'em, but they're a very likable band. And like I said, they have that "epic" sound going on, too (always been a little bit of a sucker for power metal)

No one has mentioned Artillery yet. I especially enjoy their magnum opus By Inheritance.
