I know this might seem crazy right but what the hell are the rating buttons for i dunno if i'm doing the right thing but i've just been pressing the + button all the time as i beleive tha ne response to a discussion is a positive thing.
Sorry for being such a bimbo but please help xxxx

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for "guidelines" typed in blue. You need to read them as a newbie and you find the answer as to many other things you need to know to post here successfully.

The + button is a positive response to a post or to the other responses to the post or any other post or response you read and do not respond to. The - button is the negative response to the post. It is supposed to be used if the post is silly and stupid, but because some people believe that the + means you agree with them, it is sometimes used to show you do not agree with their point of view even though the post has been written intelligently. You will notice this when you get a star and as you gain in reputation, the star will go up, but the opposite if you go down in reputation. This is the readers's reputation and not myLot's. The explanation ! is to report the poster for a violation of myLot's rules and is not to be used because you think that person is a jerk and you hate him or her.
