Do your kids still enjoy school?

The other day I was talking with one of my friends and she mentioned that her kids are getting ready to go back to school. She was very disappointed because her oldest son, who is almost 14 years old doesn't like school anymore and doesn't want to go back. But, her five year old is very excited about the idea of going to school. I thought it was very interesting to see how kids lose their love of school in such a short period of time. I can remember being four years old and dreading the idea of school, but by the time I was in second grade, I couldn't wait to attend every day. I suppose all children are different. Do all kids go through the school hating phase? Do your kids still enjoy going to school? At what age did your kids stop wanting to go to school?

My daughter is in 6th grade this year- and she cannot wait to go back- This is the first year that I can remember that she is excited about it- She is moving up to a new school and she can walk to school this year- She loves to see friends- but hates the learning part!

That is so good to hear! When I was about to go into the seventh grade I was very excited as well. It kind of went down hill from there. But it is good when they are still happy about learning.

Unfortunately my kid is too little to join the school, but as you know it is the customer of babies to hate school so i expert she will hate but no way she must follow the rule,in as much as i plan to try my level best to the education of my baby cause it will be her beneficiary.

My daughter is 14 and this is the first year she's not too ready to head back to school. Mostly I think for the routine of early morning and back to homework which they pile more on each school year.Plus more rules at school and safety measures increased with last school year, locking classroom doors now instead of just the main doors. I'm sure she'll jump back in.

Yes very much. Well, my son is in nursery and school life is a very new and exciting experience for him. He does the opposite when school is cancelled. For most kids, they will be overjoyed that there will no school but my son will cry when he learns that he won't be attending class.I know that this kind of eagerness will still stay on him until about when he reaches the latter part of grade school. I think that will be the time when getting him out of bed to get dressed for school, starts to be a great challenge.

I'm going back to school soon. But it's fun for the first like 2 months then it's no fun. Because the teachers become strict and you can't really much. Sure some classes are fun because you can talk and hang out when the teacher is done. But really depends on the classes and teachers. Some classes I like going to and other I would rather die(Not literally).

I hated school my entire life. My son is going into 3rd grade and last year he started to hate school. I think it has a lot to do with the fact we both have ADHD. Although we are both very intelligent, school was extremely challenging for me and it still is for him. It's not that the work is too hard, but the other factors of ADHD make it difficult.
