You're a med student and you want to read more?!!! What's that all about? If you want suggestions in the medicine field that I believe most doctors are very deficient in it is Parasitology. That subject is way understudied by medical students. Another is fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndromes. If you can become an expert in that field, you will really go places! I don't know what country you come from, but 4% of Americans have it now, according to the FDA. If you want a good novel to read, any of Stephen Lawhead's books are great. He is my favorite author. He has several stand-alone books, as well as trilogies, or the "Pendragon" series which is four or 5 books. Another great author is C.S. Lewis, who wrote anything from children's books to books on deep matters like "The Problem of Pain" or "Till We Have Faces." Those would be my suggestions. You can get used books on Amazon.com or other online bookstores for quite cheap. You probably already knew that. Happy reading! :)

I just thought of another that you might enjoy. It is entitled "The Gift of Pain" by Dr. Brand and Phillip Yancey. It is spectacular! After you read that book, you realize what a gift pain is! Truly!

That really depends on what you like to read, honestly. I recommend Stephen King- if you don't like horror, try The Green Mile. If you like horror (or think you like horror) give a shot to The Stand, Carrie, or The Shining. If you read Stephen King but you haven't read his Dark Tower series, I highly recommend that as well. If you're really into fantasy, I recommend Rhaspody by Elizabeth Hayden (it's the first in the series). Wicked by Gregory Maguire is a good book, as are his other books. Kushiels Dart by Jaqueline Carey is a very good book, but it's not always to everyone's taste, and is very racy (I wouldn't quite call it a bodice ripper, though).
