Who is the better actor, Pacino or De Niro?

As much as I love both of them, and I think they're both amazing actors. I have to go with Pacino. Not just because he's my favorite of the two (though it's very close). I feel that Pacino does a better job of making you believe. Everytime I see Pacino in a movie, within a few minutes of him entering the screen, he's not Al Pacino anymore. He's the character in the movie. De Niro, while really incredibly doesn't always do that. Some movies he just doesn't seem to become the character as well. He's just Robert De Niro playing this character.

Ha! That was a great question! yes de niro is more of a range and he is soooo intensive in his acting. But pacino is the king! His way of speech, looks, acting, voice, oh god man! seriously too good!

I have respect for both but definitely I will pick Robert De Niro. The guy is capable of performing all kinds of roles from simple to complicated ones. No doubt Robert De Niro is the man.... Thank you for the post

Hmmm. Great points here, Sarah. I agree with you on both counts, De Niro certainly does have a broader variety of films/genres, but Pacino's just.... Pacino! =P

I have to go with De Niro. Same reason as yours that he can play scenes several different ways and is consistantly a great actor.
