I do not adhere to such belief…I remember my first impression with my husband is that he he was a “mama’s boy” type and seemed to know nothing about household chores. These first impressions were proven wrong after few months of knowing him… What about you, do you believe that first impression lasts?

It all depends on the person on whom the impression is making effect.if the person is very rigid in his/her choices /tastes and very stereotyped or biased and want to think in terms of his/her ideas about how a person should look like or behave and other things then that first impression will have a indelible impresion on the mind. But if the person is not so judgemental and is a better judge of character and situations then the first impression does not necessarily have a long lasting impression andmay change soon.

I do believe that first impression may last in extreme cases only, ie either the impression is really good or really bad. This first impression may somehow be thawed by the subsequent meetings and the impression changes. In such cases, first impressions does really last!

From my experience, yammy, I've found that first impressions are rarely lasting ones. It really does take time to get to know someone. I have ended up becoming friends with people that I genuinely didn't like at first. Of course this can work both ways, lol.

Yes, I think first impression really lasts. I often think about my first feelings or my impressions about a certain person that I have met in my life. I don't know, but if the first impressions were good, the relationship lasts longer and better too. This is my experiences in my life. If my feelings were not good, then the relationship seems to fade away also.

First impressions are usually very hasty so they are usually proved wrong. I usually am open to changing my feeling for others.

That is a difficult question. In most cases yes for me. If I meet someone and they are disheveled in appearance and appear not to take great pride in their appearance, I tend to think that they are slobs and most of the time I am right. Sometimes, you do meet someone on a bad day and the first impression is incorrect. So I guess it depends upon the situation.

I generally have to get a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or more impressions before I can really tell how someone is. When I first met my husband I thought when he didn't have his son he was irresponsible and just wanted to party all the time but he was just recently divorced and trying to get used to dating & everything. Within 6 months he was a different person.
