burn a cd or original cd?

I often want to have the original cd from the band or singer i really like.When i like a song of a singer/band and i don't like the rest i'd like to burn down some songs on a cd.In that way it's cheaper and you won't have to listen to the whole CD. There are some bands which i would burn down a cd because i'm not sure how long i will like that band. What do you do buy original or do you also burn cd's a lot?
