Does one have to give freedom to his kids?

I have 3 children. My oldest one was allowed a lot, but when she got 14 she was very harsh against me. I couldn't get anything done with her... in the end she even quit school.
Now the younger once are kept a lot stricter, not allowed to wander around alone as the oldest one.
I just hope this will turn out better!
By the way, my oldest now is 22 and she regrets not having finished school. But she made it and works in hotelmanagement in Turkye.

Yes you have to give them freedom but with responsibility. They have to know that you care and have to understand that the certificate they get after they graduate form school is going to help them in the future and not you. The clothes that they spoil are going to look bad on them , not you. The room they mess up is going to be uncomfortable for them , not you,etc.

You are right, that is what I try, but it is not always easy when everything gets spoiled, one climbs over the mess to get in bed... I get tired of making them clean up the mess, so sometimes I just do it myself. The next day iot is the same...:(

U shoould give freedom only when u knwo their deeds are trustable

Freedom is just like medicine: if you give them too much there will be side efects. Kids shouldn't be allowed to do anything thay want because they do't see things as they are, they tend to see things as they want them to be. Thay need the guidance of an adult.

Well spoken Jack! That is what I think, but it is darn hard when you see these eyes begging you!
