I am thinking about getting a cat, I had cats before when I was living with my parents, now I have a daughter so I want her to grow with animals and since we still live in apartments I figured a cat would be easier than a dog. Any suggestions on where and what kind of cat I should get? Any other cat advice would be helpful too.

For me we tend to stay away from cats or dogs because I have a mild asthma and I dont want my kid to get an allergy from a cat or a dog. People say that its fun to own a pet but if it compromises a child's health then its a no no.

Getting them from the pound or a vet will save a cat from the shelter which is good. As long as the cats are sweet tempered which you can tell when you first come into contact with them, then you should be fine. It doesn't have to be a purebred to be a good cat. I have two lovely Heinz 57 variety cats and I love them both.

WE just got two kittens. They are so much fun to watch. They love to play and play. We got both of our kittens from private people who were going to take them to the animal shelter. They are great at using the litter box as long as we keep it clean.
