He is turning 4 next month and we are planning on having a Cars theme from the movie cars. I would like to bake a cake in the shape of a racing flag but I don't see any recipes out there for one. Does anyone know of any websites that would have that type of cake recipe or does anyone have a recipe of their own for that type of cake to share with me?

Make a rectangle cake and then cut the longs ends to make the wavy shape of the flag. Frost with white icing. Then add black on top for the checkered pattern. Oh I did find this cake: http://www.racechex.com/product/FSCP-4.html ~I thought this one was pretty neat.

I couldn't find anything on making a flag cake, but the design is very simple. This is what I would do. If you were to make a square cake and frost it in white icing and then taking a string (to make it straight)make a line in half and then turn the cake and make another in half. (If I could draw this I would, I hope you don't get confused here) Then do it again I believe a couple more time for each side so that you would have the flag outline. (go to http://www.partyshelf.com/nascar.htm and scroll down a little for the design I saw) Then when you have the outline, get some black icing and using a decorators bag or the store bought tubes and fill in every other square.. I hope that helps. ^O^
