Could it happen that maybe you forgot to take your medication? You see, I am also diabetic and when I don't take my insulin, my glucose reading gets high. Lately I have had it around 260 which is too high but I know I am not eating the appropriate meals and I am not exercising. I am trying to see a doctor, but that won't be until the 28th. So I need to wait a little more. That's good that you check with your doctor and see what is wrong. Take care and God bless you.

I have Diabeties too and have to be very careful what I eat. I don't test my sugar very often b/c 1) I can't stand to be poked and 2) I can feel when my sugar is getting higher or lower. My Dr. wanted to put me on meds for it last year and I refused. I control mine with my eating schedule (I eat a small meal every 3 hours) and that generally works fine. AT PEACE WITHIN

hi jiffys_frog_woman,don't worry friend, sometimes what happens is your glucose or what we call in general sugar levels remain appropriate to give you energy at any time and the sugar may not get consumed so it remains there..when you took your first meal that day it is possible that your glucose was not consumed on the previous day as it used to be..reasons can be you may have worked less on the previous evening and have consumed more which were still persisting till next morning and when you ate..they got added up.. the other reason can be if you are taking any oral medications for your diabetes or using insulin then you might are developing resistance or tolerance to the usual dose so it needs to be increased a bit.. one reason can be you may have developed some minor infection or other illness or you are under some stress which can also cause rise in glucose levels as under these conditions mentioned here our stress hormone levels get increased which ii turn causes glucose to rise.. so in any case i would suggest you to go to your physician and get yourself examined so as to find the exact cause..take care..
