We had such a nasty strain of thunderstorms come through yesterday. A town next to me suffered a tornado, with damage. Sun was shinng at 3:00 pm and by 3:15 the winds reached 80 miles an hour and rain was falling at a torrential pace. It was coming down real fast. It rained for 2 hours, stopped then started up again. The first time it rained, the street in front of my house looked like a lake. It was up to the doors of some of the cars that were parked in the street. It came down so fast, the drainage sewers couldn't keep up with it. It came half way up my driveway. The grass on my parkway was covered in water. The retention pond in back of my house, which has been dry most of the year due to the 95+ heat we have had most of this summer, now looks like a miniature Mississippi River! Thankfully, it did not come up the hill towards my home or my back neighbors homes. We have had extremely humid and hot and rainy weather this entire summer. I know some people suffered severe flood damage and I feel extremely lucky not to have any. Did you have any problems because of the weather this year?

Here in Utah we haven't had any problems like that this year. We did a couple years back though. Houses were falling into the floodwaters. I keep hearing about the bad weather in the midwest and I feel for everyone having to deal with it. I just can't imagine how bad it is.
