Do You Have a Favourite Singer Who Has Quitted Singing?

The question comes to mind because I am currently digging out the old CDs and be reminded again of a singer here - Faye Wong - whose voice I really love. But she quitted singing totally because she is now married and is happy with her family life. I am happy for her and I totally understand the change, but sometimes, I still hope that she would sing again because I do really miss her voice and now all I can do is listening to her old CDs. What about you?

No, that hasn't happenned to me as yet, he's still singing.. Infact, he's going stronger than ever... His name is Adnan Sami.. He's got such a soulful voice that I never get tired hearing his songs... Hope he sings on till the time I get bored of hearing music...

Yes I know what you are talking about and yes we could listen to the old albums but sometimes I can't help wishing that they would make something new to come out, that would be refreshing to our ears.

I had no idea that Faye Wong had stopped singing. I'm happy for her having found happiness, and wish her all the best. I do think that perhaps she might go back into singing in a few years or so - you can never tell with singers - if she's inspired she might release an album or something like that. However, if she never sings again, that's her decision, and people can still enjoy the music she's recorded over the years. I recently answered a question on MyLot asking about whether Joni Mitchell (she's been recording since the 1960s) had retired, as she'd made a statement to the press that she wouldn't make any more CDs, as the music industry and certain record labels had ripped her off so much over the years, and were still making money from her music, whilst she wasn't. However, recently she signed a recording contract with a new record label, so it goes to show - you never can tell!

*laughs* Right! I just hope in the bottom of my heart that she will sing again! And yes Beijing wants her to sing for the Olympic game but she declined too! I guess we will know in a few years' time.

I don't have a specific favorite singer, but Faye Wong is my favorite. Please don't think I say it because you also love her. You can see my interest from my personal homepage, I did mention her there. I like her songs and I also appreciate her character. Because she doesn't like to please anyone who she doesn't like. Her voice is so wonderful. Today I can't find a better female singer than her. She really has lots of fabulous songs.

Yes she is really cool and I love her songs dearly. I can't find anyone comparable to her so far singing in Chinese. Therefore I stop listening to those Chinese songs for awhile now. My ears are spoilt by her voice *laughs*.
