Are there in cases where whole families get it?

Dad was feeling fine, went in for his blood tests and they indecated dad;s kidneys were failing. put him on dialisis and autopsy said he died of a blood clot in his lung!

Are you asking if blog clots are contagious? Or maybe they have some kind of blood disorder where clotting may be hereditary. Hemophilia is a blood disorder where the blood doesn't clot and it runs in families so I would imagine that clotting disorders can be inherited as well but if you don't already have that disorder you can't catch it from someone else it's not like a cold where the virus is airborne.
