the best one i have found is avast i have not tried bitefender but i beleive that it isnt avalible for free. I have heard good things about bitdefender but have not actually tried it myself.

I have the BEST antivirus! its called windows cd really low cost it came with pc...its AMAZING!! anytime I get hit with a virus I put this cd in the DVD burner it formats and reinstalls windows wiping out ANY virus of any name or no name AMAZING....LOL
