A need for speech

Learning to speak depends on the child's need to speak. If the child gets what he wants without asking for it, if his thoughts and ideas are anticiapted by the parents before expressed by him, and if all other individuals in the family and nearby adjust with him on their own, he does not have any incentive to make efforts to speak. Speaking is a very difficult and complicated task, and it will be delayed if the child does not need to tell others what he wants and to control his environment accordingly.
