Arshad a small advice. Do not install Linux by yourself if you are not sure about Linux partitions. Thats why you erased your vista partition. You should have tried to get someone familiar with Linux to set it up. Most of the users using Linux must be doing dual boot. If the problem was with Linux then none of them could have had dual booting on their system. Another thing users blaming linux forget that Linux is free, it started to evolve much later than Microsoft released their windows. You need to pay very high for vista in order to use but not for linux and still vista is buggy. So you are paying for nothing. About features available, once I was a windows user and started using linux 3 yrs back. Now when I login to windows I seriously miss many cool features that Linux got. You need not have gone for a complete install (7 GB means complete install) and in normal case it wont take 2 hrs to install Linux. Even if it take one hour just think what you get after a complete installed. Automatically configured hardwares (if driver is available), all the software we need for daily use. If windows took only 30 min then how much time should we waste to install the drivers, restarting after installing drivers, installing softwares (some software too requires restarting). I think you posted after the first impression you had about Linux. First impression need not be the best impression always. If you had gone deep into linux you should have made your linux box beautiful with 3D desktop.

thats nothing. Get rid of Fedora. Install Ubuntu!!! with ubuntu there is a lot of possibilities and it easy to use. Oh and much much more faster then vista. And you think thats a nice design take a look at the linux design. Just type in the youtube search bar beryl and have a look at the videos.

arshad7861 You can install xp along with Ubuntu, youy will probaby want to install xp first, then Ubuntu. On install, XP deactivates the boot loader that Ubuntu installs and then all you would be able to do is get to XP. If XP is already loaded ,the bootloader will usually see that it (XP) is there and give you a choice at boot to enter it. In Linux you have a choice of desktops. Wehn people say Ubuntu they usually mean Ubuntu with a Gnome desktop. Xubuntu is Ubuntu with an XFCE desktop. XFCE is a lighter desktop, it is really good for older hardare, hardware that does not have much ram, or if you want to get every bit of power out of your computer. Otherwise you may wish to download the Gnome Ubuntu or even buntu with the KDE desktop (Kubuntu). As someone else suggested though, you may wish to find someone who knows the Linux partitioning system, or at least how to partition a harddrive to help you.
