Printer ink says empty with new cartridge.

My brother 420cn said low ink so I installed all new and it says the color cartridges are low or empty. I pulled and replaced he cartridges visully checking that they were full and liquid. Still says low or empty and refuses to print. Any suggestions? thanks jj

I'd take them out, unplug the printer and reinstall them..the sensor may be off or they may not be installed properly.

my printer does the same thing all the time..even if it looks like its fill of ink, you should change it anyway, it might cost you alot, but it'll fix the problem. hope it helps

the computer only detects what it is commanded of, but if your cartridge is new, i guess there is somethig wrong with the printer or it's setting. try to go to HELP section of your computer installation cd and check how to troubleshoot.
