I received this message from my dear friend in college yesterday afternoon. It talks about the origin of the word "CHURVA". For Filipinos out there, I know you're very much familiar about this word.*hehehehe* At first, I thought it was just a "Gay Lingow" (a.k.a. Gays-originally-made-language). I am caught to always using this word, "CHURVA", especially when I don't know anymore what to say or if I am lost of the exact "right words" to say. hehe... Here's what I found out through my friend's message: "CHURVA has its etymology from the Greek word CHEORVAMUS meaning "for lack of the right word to say or in place of something you want to express but you cannot verbalize."I never thought that such "street-made" word has a Greek origin. *hehe* --- How about you? Do you have any word that you know the origin? Share it here!:)

I never knew it has an origin, all the while the same as you I thought its just some word that gay invented and use. Maybe other words like "chuvachenes" was derived or modified from "CHURVA". That was informative, thanks for sharing. :-)

Yeah, that is very interesting by the way. Yes, I think a lot of words are originated from some other languages. One word in English that I can think off is ponder. It is a Spanish word too and it is spells the same. It is has the same meaning. It means to think.

I don't have a clue, so I looked it up in my College dictionary and it wasn't any brighter than I am. Sorry I can't help you out my friend, but I'm thinking about you. That counts right? Take Care...

One of the things I miss about the Philippines, my gay friends. I have so much fun when I was with them. They have their own world and to be able to be a part of it is really fun and amusing. I was also able to adapt somehow. But I don't know any words and its origin that I can share here. I just want to share with you how I love being around with these people because they are as real as can be and they have all the right to be called "gay" because they are always happy and gay, so to speak. Babush!
