Happiness Or Wealth? Which Would You Choose?

If you could choose to be happy or wealthy, which would you choose? And why? Do you believe that happiness leads naturally to wealth? I've read much online that says that being truly happy naturally leads to a greater state of prosperity. Do you think that's the case? I do, but what's your opinion about it? I would be interested in hearing what others have to say.

If possible I will choose both LoL. If I am only allowed to choose either, then I definitely choose happiness. Because the end point of pursuing the weathiness is to get happiness. If I am happy enough with my life, I will no longer need to pursue for the wealth. But in the real world, both happiness and weath are interconnected, but in a strange way. Usually people will pursue for wealth, hoping that it will bring happiness in the end. Some succeeded, but some failed. In the success story, the person who become rich can realize happiness with his financial power. But for those unlucky one, they had sacrificed their health or the loved one, in order to gain the money they desired. For those most unlucky one, they failed to be rich and losing all the things they own (love, family, friends, health & etc). So, although I long to be rich, but I will prioritize other aspect of my life and I will never sacrifice my health, family and friend in order to pursue the wealthy life. I will find the legan way and smart way to get rich, even though it takes time. I think the "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" provides some very good insight on how to become rich eventually. It depends on how fast you could absorb and apply the prinsip described inside.

Very good point you make. Most people pursue wealth in order to try and become happy, but if you are already happy, then it seems far less important. Like you, I would prefer to have both. I don't know if money actually makes anyone happy, but it sure can help get rid of many worries and concerns, freeing one from a lot of stress.

What you said is right. But it still depend on the individual personality and specific situation. Because, even though wealth could resolve many poverty related problem and eliminate the financial worries, but in the time, it might bring other worries as well. For example, we need to work out how to protect your wealth from deception, con-man, theft, kidnap and robbery. Besides, wealth will always make people become famous and thus most of the rich lost the freedom to wander around in the street without being noticed or protected.

in my opinion, the ultimate aim of our life is to obtain happiness.and wealth sometimes may be the way to achive. if you are rich, you can buy anything you want ,you can support yourself mental and substantial materials. so if you can't be happy, may be you can be wealthy.

But I believe you can be both. I think we owe it to ourselves and everyone around us to be as happy and as wealthy as possible. If you can't be as wealthy as possible, how will you be free to express the potential that God has given you? We can never do that as long as we live in poverty or less than ideal circumstances, because we spend all of our time and energy thinking about the most mundane things, like how we will pay our rent and our electric bill. How can you fly when you're clutching the dirt?
