I am an English teacher, but I have two kids. I'm thinking of quitting my job, but I enjoy what I'm doing. Could you recommend an online tutorial job for me? It would be much better to stay and work at home.

If you enjoy what you are doing, don't quit your job. I teach as well, and my co-workers have 2 and 3 kids each, so having a job and having kids can obviously be done. Online tutorials won't be the same as teaching...you'll miss it.

Thanks for the advice. I'm having second thoughts. I know I can come up with a wise decision and whatever decision I'll make, I know God will guide me.

I am in kind of the same situation as princessjas_2007. I am looking for some extra income to help offset some of the household bills. I am a math teacher and would love any recommendations for a good site for tutoring math. thanks in advance

I'm actually doing what you're looking for, I think. I'm a special ed teacher by training, but I've moved my business to home when the kids were born. I'm actually earning a living wage! It's taken awhile to build up, but I do a lot of teaching online these days. Check out Universal Class.com and Teachbits.com, as well as ABCteach.com. Lulu.com is a place to self-publish things you've written, too. If you're interested in looking, I've got a website that I use as a base of operations: http://www.allinfoaboutreading.com, and I'm on hubpages and squidoo. I write for Triond, and Constant-Content.com. I've found several lucrative writing gigs at writersrow.com job boards (Deb is super!). All of these things bring in money for me. I do private tutoring at home, too-this was where I started when the kids were tiny. I always have a waiting list, particularly for literacy and remedial reading at all levels. I bet you'd find the same things in your area. It's nice because you can set your own schedule and the amount that you work. When the children were little and needed close supervision, I used to hire "mother's helpers"-young teens and preteens from the neighborhood or the church to watch them while I worked a few hours. It was a good system because they got experience working with kids and I got a trained babysitter in a few years. You might want to consider it. Oh, and I also teach classes online and in person for homeschooled kids. There's quite a market for that sort of thing. If you'd like to talk more, PM me and we can get in touch. Sandy

I'm not sure where you are located but I've seen a lot of jobs on Craigslist for tutors working from home. I'm not sure if that is something you are interested in doing but I figured I'd pass it along.

There are plenty of online tutoring sites. You can join one of them and see if you can do online tutoring. Here are the ones I remember. www.tutorgator.com (This is my favorite) www.tutoringzone.com
