I think your spouse should be your friend. Why else would you marry someone if you can't be friends with them and hang out, talk, joke and do all you do with a friend? Having said that, they ARE different in many ways. Friendships are very different than marriage in many ways. I don't think either one is better than the other. I love my husband and his friendship but I also love the few friends I let into my life totally and would be very alone without either them or my husband so I say...both relationships are healthy and necessary. :)

Well in all honesty they are two completely different things and IMO they really cant be compared...I mean I love my close friendships with some of my friends but I love my intimate relationships with my husband and my lover as well..but I can't choose one type of relationship over the other..they are totally different ya know...

hmmm...i prefer marriage, because I can be married to my friend and lover at the same time...
