Help me fix my dead grass...PLEASE!!!

Rock garden sounds good actually, that is what i am doing with my back yard, but i did have the same problem as you my grass was dying, even in a shady place grass will grow actually, but for me it did not, so i went to the garden center and they suggested a miracle grow solution that you hook up to your hose and give your lawn a nice wash with it simply spray it on and let it do its work. i dont remember the name but if you go to a hardware store or anything look for the bottle of Miracle grow to help your grass. if that dosent work, perhaps redoing it in the rock garden that they mentioned isnt a bad idea :P

Hello davesbiz, Besides water, grass needs some sun also. My neighbor gave up trying to get grass to grow in her backyard because it is too shady there all day. If that is the case, maybe a rock garden or a deck/patio place where you can entertain. Also consider your soil, if you compost, you can spread out the compost and rototill it until it is mixed well. Then spread out the grass seed and cover with straw, water well every day.
