i did not personally watch it, but my friend sent it to me and i couldn't stop laughing.
okay, so she was asked why 1/5th of americans cannot find america on the map [which is pretty sad within itself, and unbelievable].
any educated person would blame the educational system in america, maybe they are not making geography manditory in some states or lack of funding or wtvr, somthing reasonable.
she comes out and starts talking about the lack of sale in maps.. HAHA! then she starts saying "everywhere things like such as" and says we should help asia and africa....
what does that gota do with the american educational system? i have no idea..
i understand the stress that is put out on these girls, but even with all that stress you cannot pull an answer like that out of nowhere unless there is an, excuse my french, idiot at the wheel.
first i thought it was funny, now i just think its sad.

Excuse my french but what the heck is this dumb blonde talking about.If this is what our american education system is producing and that's a look in to the future please shoot me know.
I thought contestants were required to take tests before being allow in these competitions.
I'd like to know how she got through High School.
I'm sure that her parents are really proud after a pronouncement like that.

See it didn't seem that "duh"-ish. What was on that video sounded more like "duh-duhhh-uh!?...*smile*"

And yea totally hear you Pis-m. At least its one more note on my wall of public school shame. She probably got through high school because the district didn't want someone so empty to feel so bad and you know hurt feelings (oops forgot to mention Africa, Asia and selling maps, bad Pro, bad! ;p). I bet the school probably nerfed its curriculum, class content and grading scale. I'm almost willing to bet at her school 49 is an F. So you just need to know half the crap just to pass. And most of the crap being taught to her must be on videos or DVD. Tests must be open book. Maybe the credit requirement for the diploma is just plain pathetic.

A FIFTH!!? What the hell!! That is the saddest part. Forget little miss simpleton, come on, how can a fifth of the whole country not know where it is in the world??

Personally, I cannot believe that 1/5 of Americans can't find America. I haven't met one person that couldn't so I question their methodology.
Secondly, remember that she is a beauty contestant, not thinker. Have you ever seen those girls being prepped and primmed for their entire life to do that one thing? Its sad.

yea i saw that, i felt sooo sorry for her, i dont really think she was dumb, maybe she was overwhelmed and thinking of other things and she started rambeling on...

Though I do question the poll in that discussion, it doesn't excuse how bad this answer was. I mean... just wow...
It coulda been nerves yes, but even nervous I can easily answer a question like that one.
