What bedtime routine do you have for your kids?

My boys get a bath and brush their teeth. Then we have story time. Then they each get a hug and a kiss. Then lights out!

Do not have children, but I have cats who go to bed when I go to bed and wake up when I wake up. They are funny like that.

I have two cats. One sleeps on my head and the other sleeps on my husband's feet! Until 2am that is. When they both lick me until I wake up and feel them. Cat's tongues are very scratchy!

We usually eat supper between 6 and 6:30...then he has a half an hour to a hour of TV. At about 7:30...I get my son ready for his bath, he has his bath, gets in his pjs and brushs his teeth. Then I usually get him to help pick up a few toys in his room and read him a story, then tuck him in and he goes right to sleep. Last night though he was up late, with a fever so tonight after supper he started falling alseep on the couch so we just washed him up a bit and put him right in bed.

My boys are 3 and 6. Lights out is 8pm, but it's usually 9pm or sometimes 10 before they fall asleep.

We take a bath, brush teeth, read a story , sing a song and say our prayers, then hugs and kisses and roses on your pillow, then lights out.

Bath, brush teeth, story, water in a sippy cup (no spills!)... and then the battle begins to get him to close his eyes long enough to fall asleep. He fights sleep so hard that often when he finally does fall asleep he looks as though he was running in the bed (albeit laying down!) when he finally gave up.

I forgot... my kids have a sippy cup with water, too! I can picture what you're saying! Mine fight until one falls asleep. Or they keep asking me when I'm going to go to bed. I swear... that have to be up my butt 24/7. If I'm doing something, they have to do it, too. They don't want to settle down until I go to bed... then they know that nothing else is going on.

Me, too! I always wanted to stay up later to watch TV with them. That's when all the good shows came on.

We started a ritual called "family fun time". It's not technically part of bedtime, but we always do it before bedtime. We play a board game, or charades or whatever the kids choose. Then we do teeth, pajamas, stories and bed. My youngest goes through phases where he keeps getting out of bed and bothering the oldest, but they're under control at the moment.

My son is 5 months old... i wish we had a bedtime routine... he thinks he is Mr. Social and doesnt need to sleep when we need to sleep... Like today for example, he wanted to stay up til almost 4, and i had to get up at 8.... i'm trying to get him on one. We give him a bath with some lavendar body wash and shampoo (it helps you sleep and relax) then put his pajamas on, then feed him and change him and HOPE he goes to sleep lol.

Bedtime is a bit awry here right now. My oldest son is 9 years old and is playing football this year. He has practice 3 times per week until 8pm. This makes it a bit difficult to get them to bed at a decent hour. My younger son is only 4 and is in bed by 8pm most nights. My husband and older son arrives home just after 8 and the older one is in bed by about 9:30 as he must shower and eat. Fortunately we are homeschoolers and can allow him to sleep in most mornings. He loves to read before sleeping and does so with a reading light until about 11pm most football practice nights.

What a busy schedule! How neat that you homeschool! How do you do it? I think I would have a difficult time with it.

Stephanie usually eats around 7-7:30 and then I give her a bath. If she isn't fussy we play a little bit on the couch and usually dinner is ready by then so that signals bedtime for her and quality time for me and my fiance.

How nice you can get her to bed for quality time with your man. My hubby and I don't get much quality time together.
