people like Robert Cornuke go out on wild goose chases trying to find noahs arc, and they are protected by their "PHD"'s... but it really matters what type of educational system you get your PHD from.. my question is, do you trust people who have PHD's from Christian Universities? if you do, do you trust them more or less than conventional "secular" universities? do you give any credit to the person who gets these Degrees? After kent hovind, i dont think anyone should.

Like anything else , there are smart people and stupid people. And I don't think a piece of paper makes a difference. There are plenty of " well educated" people who are dumb. and many people that didn't finish school that are geniuses.I don't think it matters if you go to a Christian college or a secular college, for some it is a fortune pi$$ed away because they will be just as stupid as they were when they enrolled.

i would disagree, would you not respect a person who finished 8 years of school for his PHD?

thats a blunt generalization.. some go to school a long time because they want to have a job that includes their higher education.. there are many reasons why people would stay in education... and frankly, the "real world" isn't that scary. didnt the university girl win on the apprentice? and how old was the person she was facing? the lady she was facing supposedly had a lot of experience, but she was old and was gona be useless in a couple years... the girl had a lot of education, meaning, its a lot easier for her to learn new things, and she had her whole life ahead of her.. Einstein supposedly was bad at language, he was a weird child with brilliant ideas... but then we look at hawkings and he was in education for the longest time.. ofcourse, im not saying that all the people who dont go to school are "stupid".. im just saying that, in this day and age, education is respected, and especially WHERE you get the education. people in business like bill gates dont really need higher education, they just need to be good in math and be creative. "DR" kent hovind is in jail now.

What do you mean about Christian Universities? You have to define the meaning of "Christian" Universities here. Are you talking about Seminary/Theology Universities? Or Are you talking the universities that may "smell" Christianity such as Saint Mary University in Halifax, Canada, Trinity Western University in Langvey, BC, etc. If you're looking for a Christian Scholar, for instance, Seminary/Theology Universities will definitely be a good choice. Because at Seminary/Theology Universities, students are going to learn more deeply about Christianity stuffs. However, if you're looking for someone who has an Accounting skill, for instance, it doesn't matter whether the university smells "Christianity" or not AS LONG AS his transcript (the list of courses that he took) shows that he has learned and grasped Accounting. FYI, both Saint Mary University and Trinity Western University offer An Accounting Program. Are you implying that people who go to Christian Universities are stupid and delusional people? If you think so, your thinking and opinion are irrational. This is the same thing... students who go to public schools are stupid compared to those who go to private schools. If you think so, you're the most ignorant person I ever met.

Robert Cornuke holds a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Ph.D. in Bible and Theology from Louisiana Baptist University (Classes at Lousiana Baptist University are mostly in subjects pertaining to the Bible and Baptist theology). On the other hand, Kent Hovind attended Midwestern Baptist College and received a Bachelor of Religious Education. FYI, Courses at Midwestern Baptist College are heavy related to Bible studies and Baptist Theology. In conclusion, both of them studied at SEMINARY/THEOLOGY Universities. That's why they learned deeply about Christianity stuffs. It is what they would like to do in their life -- to become a pastor or a minister.

its fine if they want to be a pastor or a minister, but when they get into the field of science, thats when all the trouble starts...

It would depend on the university. Is the school just calling themselves a university, or have they been officially accredited as a university? It seems like almost anyone can hang out a shingle and call their school whatever they want, but there are official accrediting bodies that evaluate schools to see if they meet the standards as a university, college, etc. Even if a university identifies itself as a Christian university, if the school is accredited as a university I don't see why I'd doubt their graduates any more than a secular school.

I can understand your doubt, and I'd definitely take another look if someone said they'd received a degree from a Christian university. But if you take a look at Kent Hovind, you can quickly see that his "degrees" are from UNaccredited schools, meaning he does not have a legitimate degree. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_hovind It's pretty clear that his credentials aren't worth the paper they are printed on. :)

I went to a christian university. I hated it. The professors were great, yet everything they taught was on a religous standpoint. In my psychology class for example, they would not talk about certain topics because they thought it was too graphic and contraversial. Load of bull. No wonder i flunked lol.

I wouldn't trust what someone said if they went to a Christian university. They are a lot like most of these homeschool programs where the courses are concerned. Most homeschool programs are made by Christians, and anyone who went to homeschool will be really lost when they go into college. I've studied with homeschool materias before, and they put God into everything. So, they get a lot of things wrong and the student going into college will have a difficult time catching up to their peers.
