i can't believe there's no discussion on ikkitousen! it's such a cool anime~ anyways, for those of you who don't know, ikkitousen is a slightly old anime that's about jap high-schoolers reliving and rewriting chinese history. The reason i'm bringing up such an old anime is that the new 2nd season has just come out! ikkitousen has a very cool concept. It's based on a very famous chinese war story (real history) called Three Kingdoms. Anyways, the anime says that the souls of all the heros and important characters in this part of chinese history are reborn again and again into Fighters. Fighters always seem to group together in the same way they did in history. Now, the 'three kingdoms' is replaced with three schools, each with its great leader that led the three kingdoms a long time ago. It is an anime where high-schoolers no longer seem like high-schoolers. These kids regularly engage in life and death battles against each other and most have no compunction against killing their enermies. Fortunately, adults don't exist in the storyline, otherwise, if some stupid adult tried to come and arrest one of them for murder, i would really pity him and his entire police department. Put it this way, i wouldn't want to fight against these kids even if i were a pro-wrestler. I don't really understand why they go to school, it's not like they have time to study or got on lessons. Reliving famous historic battles, plotting against the other schools and to overturn fate is a fulltime job. the name 'ikkitousen' means 'one person in place of a thousand', it just basically means that, of cause there were hundreds and thousands of soldiers in the actual battle in history, but in this anime, they take away the troops and let the generals and leaders of the troops deck it out. It's kinda sad in a way, since they can't escape fate. For example, if general A killed general B all those many years ago, the reincarnated general A will still be destined to kill general B. No matter how hard they try to win, if they lost before, they will not win now. Seriously, if you had your fate written in the history books, it must be pretty depressing.
