Civil Case

Last Tuesday, the pre-trial hearing I filed against a client who swindled us 1M was held. During the cross examination, I had presented all the proof I had regarding his involvement with the company who owe us that money. He looked so calm and unassuming. I could not understand why this man would prefer to fight us on the civil case we filed yet he knows very well that I have proof of his involvement and him being the person who finance the company. Do you think he has something up his sleeves? What do you think he will do to try and win his case? Hope you can provide me some insights. Thank you.
