Have you had any bad experiences with Dermabond?

Dermabond, for those of you that do not know) is like a medical superglue that doctors use on cuts instead of stitches. It is supposed to leave a cleaner, less noticable scar once the wound has healed. My questions is, has anybody (other than me) had a bad experience with this stuff? I have never had the stuff used on me but a few years ago Dermabond was used on my child. She was hit in the face with a toy by a younger cousin. The gash left over her eye should have had at least 4 stitches but the doctors chose to use 'superglue' on it. This stuff actually held the infection in the wound. There is no way for the wound to 'breathe' to heal properly. I ended up pealing it off to release the infections so it wouldn't get worse than it already was. needless to say, the scar is worse now than it would have been had they just put stitches in it to begin with. Please share your opinions, I am very interested to know what everyone thinks.

I've never had any problems with anything like that. I've used regular super glue on myself to seal a wound a few times. It sounds to me like maybe the wound wasn't cleaned and disinfected properly before it was sealed.

That is a possibility as I was not informed of the injury until a few hours after it happened and by the time I got her to the ER the gash had already dried but still needed some sort of 'sealing'. I'm just hoping that the older she gets the less noticable the scar is going to be.
