after your child(ren) get on the bus off to school.......

My daughter just started first grade and it was killing me to let her go these last three days onto the bus. The first day i kept myself as occupied as possible.. laundry cleaning bills etc etc.. but once everything is done there is nothing more to do until dinner & dinner dishes, talking to her about her day, playing a game, bathing her for bed, brushing her hair, reading a story and tucking her into bed etc.. etc.. the day does not go on for me unless it invloves her. i was wondering on what some of you other at home parents do once you get your kids onto the school bus to keep your self from being bored and lonely all day?! thanks for sharing.

I didn't realize it was twins... YOu'll probably be busy a month or so earlier than I thought. ;) stock up on sleep now. With my twins the first couple months I was incredibly sleep deprived.

We spend so much time raising our young ones. When it comes time for them to be away from us on a daily basis, we tend to go blank when it comes to filling our free time. I would do things I couldn't do when they were little. I would soak in a hot bath as long as I could stand it. I went to visit with friends. I'd go browse around the stores by myself. When I got bored with all that I went to a craft store and got myself a project to get involved in. I ended up building a dollhouse from a kit. I would get so lost in working on it that I forgot all about life stopping without my child there by my side. Find things that you like to do and focus on them. I wish you luck filling your free time.

I love being with my children. As I watch them go to school I can't wait to see them again. We spend so much time together playing, watching T.V. do their homework and many thing to share. So if they go to school I was so busy in doing so many thing sometimes I don't even know how can I divide my time in so many thing I want to do like cooking, preparing their foods when they come home. If I have a spare time I read magazine even surfing in my computer to gather more information, go shopping, gardening many thing that I want to do and I'm very happy in doing it. And one thing more I make sure that I will cook with all my love in it for my children this is how I spend my time when my children go to school hope I shared a little idea with you.

If I don't have laundry and cleaning to do I go for a walk around the neighborhood or I meet a friend at the walking track and we walk for about 30 minutes to an hour. It is good for you, it refreshes you and it makes you feel better afterward. I also, go to the library, go window shopping with friends, go to the swimming pool and relax or I read.

My is home to take care of my son. After he goes to school, she goes shopping and does the laundry. Then she gets online to watch her stock and chats with her friends online till eleven thirty. It will be time for her to cook lunch and when my son comes back home from school, he is able to have lunch. In the afternoon, my wife takes a nap after lunch and in the afternoon at 1:00, she is online again for her stock and chats with her friends who are also doing stock business. My son goes to school at two. He goes to school by himself. He is no longer a small kid and he usually walks to school. This summer vacation we bought him a mountain bike that he likes. Now he goes to school by bike as his new school is a litle bit far from where we live. It it in another part of the city. Of course in the evening he has to go to school again till 9:00 when my wife is doing the rest of the chores and watch some movies online. Such is what my wife and my son do every day.

Sorry that I missed one word in the first sentence. It is my 'wife' who takes care of my son.

I clean. And since my son hasn't allowed me much time to unpack since we moved in June, I'm doing some unpacking. Which means I"m also going through things and putting some stuff on ebay. I'm also looking for a part time job while he's at school. Which will keep me occupied, but also help with the bills.

Hi beutfulmama6701! I have two boys, one is a kindergartener and the other one is a preschooler. They keep me busy all day because my eldest is in the morning class and the younger one is in the afternoon session. I think it's better this way so that I can give them one to one attention while the one of them is in school, right? We play, study and help with some household chores. We have fun. And they miss each other very much at the end of the day. Have a great day!!!

I go to work. ;) If I manage to make it home before my oldest (she's in middle school and gets home an hour before every one else) I clean. Otherwise I've been enjoying the ability to run errands, grocery shop, etc. with out any one along for the ride.

lol so in 3 months you won't have that problem any more. :) You can use the time to get everything prepared for the new baby.

Just my oppinion but if this is your only child you might want to consider having another. If things are good with your home life that is. I have 3 and one on they way 2 in school and one that wont start till next year but boy I think I could really enjoy a break. The cleaning is never done here if you truely dont have enough to do to keep you busy you are welcome to come to my house LOL.

LOL thanks for the input.. the thing is i am expecting.. i got 2 more on the way! 3 months to go! thats the thing though she has been an only child for 6 and a half years now and for those past 6 and a half years ive known nothing but being a mother and in every moment of my life it was devoted to her wether it was playing a game... snuggle time... doing her laundry cleaning her room, shopping for her, feeding bathing etc etc.. and even though she has a luittle brother and sister on the way thats still a ways to go.. i dont know how to adjust to going from busy all the time to having 3 months of some spare time to being completely occupied again!! LOL thanks...
