I'm travelling to Los Angeles with a friend to stay for a month. We intend to rent a car and go to Las Vegas to stay for about three days. Now it came out to our minds that we can go to Grand Canyon. I've already researched on the internet but could not find maps or tips to go either from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon or from LA to Grand Canyon and then to Las Vegas. What's the best option? Have any idea of how much we'll spend and how long we'll travel from one city to the other? I'm taking any help! Thanks a lot

Hello, Daelin. I am glad to know that you are going to spend one month with your friend. For sure you will get a lot of fun with your friend during the month. When I read the part that you could probably go from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon, it reminds me of the Grand Canyon which I saw on TV about the introduction to it. It is a very beautiful place. But there is one thing I need to warn you about the Canyon, as your friend. It is said that there have been many traffic accidents on the road of the Canyon. One side of the Canyon is not able to see the sun which makes you think that the road is still extending to the front, thus leading many drivers still ride on as to fly their cars and fall into the Canyon without their intention at the noon time. In fact, it is the shadow of the road, not a real road. When I saw this, I felt so scared and worried about newcomers driving on the road that lead them to disasters. I am sorry to say that I couldn't explain this well. But I hope that you will read more about the Canyon before you will travel there. Have a safe and pleasant trip to meet your friends, Daelin.

I think mapquest.com has a feature that will show you sites along your trip if you put in a starting and destination address. You could go on there and find plenty of destinations to go to on your road trip.

Best to drive from LA to Las Vegas, spend time there, drive to Grand Canyon, a day or so there, back to Las Vegas, plan to stay at least one night at least, maybe more if you have more to do in LV, then back to LA. It's a few hours freeway driving between LA and LV and between LV and Grand Canyon.. The time you spend in Las Vegas and Grand Canyon depends on your level of interest in gambling, shows, etc for LV and hiking for Grand Canyon. I recommend just one overnight in GC if you just plan to look from the rim.

You go for STARWARE; www.starware.com - and you download it's map tool bar. Not only the L.A. but the world in three version; 1. Map, 2. Satellite, & 3. Hybrid. You just key in the destination from and to, let say form L.A to Grand Canyon, you will get details for turning left and right. Not only USA but the rest of the world. London, Paris, China even my house you can view through "satellite" viem. Only for japan Map, its all in Japanese alphabets unless you take for satellite view. If you give me your house address, it straight away go to your house view until the main entrance gate. And I will know what is the color for your house. Let say for an International Airport at any place in the world, the code number on the runway, very very clear. That is all from me. Bye for now. The Little Me, Michael. just call me Michael.
