The female president obsession

There is a disturbing trend taking shape. In here and in the country, even in the world at large. The facination with the prospect of a female U.S. president. This would be all well and good except that no one seems to be looking at ANYTHING else but the gender factor. No oner seems at all concerned with her desire to controll every aspect of life and have governm, ent involvment in all of it. All anyone is seeing is her gender and the novelty of a female president. There is so much more to the job and gender alone is NOTHING in this. PLEASE people,,,i beg you PLEASE, really think about this before you vote.

I love you for this post! You're absolutely, 100% right. Too many people are only concerned with a person's gender, ethnicity, or religious background when they need to be looking at the candidate's history, motives, political platform, etc. It terrifies me really, and if Hilary becomes president, I'm moving to Canada. Blessed Be

OKay I got to say this. Though I am voting for the guy from IL. Hillary did an okay job the first two terms in office, because we all know that Bill wasn't really running this country. He had to take over after the first Bush screwed with our country. They did the best they could and things were going pretty good. Since they left, look at what has happened.

I couldn't agree with you moer. I don't know a lot about Hilary but people shouldn't vote for someone because they are a female, or black, or deomcratic, or republican, or whatever. They should vote for the person that they believe in. You should vote for the person male or female black or white or whatever for what they stand for. What they want to do. Afgter all this person is going to be the leader of your people. They are going to represent your country around the world. They are going to be the ones that are implementing the laws, protecting your children, possibly raising or lowering your taxes, implementing laws that you either like or dislike but must abide by.

Hello Xfahctor, I find it disgraceful and reprehensible that so many American's who have been asked the reason for their support of Mrs. Clinton, reply that it is because she is a woman. Lizzy Bordon was a woman, and the most notorious axe murderess in the history of the U.S. Just because a woman enters a traditionally male field, doesn't mean that her different gender qualifies her to be any different at it than her competitors. The ignorant simply shouldn't be voting!

I noted this in another thread but I really don't get the obsession over it either. Shouldn't it be about the qualifications of a person, not gender or race? I guess I think to backwards, either that or everyone else is going backwards and telling me I'm the one who's wrong. And it should be noted all of the propped up candidates and all of the figureheads in the Congress are just empty flapping heads that wave in the direction of the wind. That and they do it for the power they so desperately crave and worship. Of course everyone wants to paint big bullseye on the executive branch (and yes mistakes are made there) but I'm just curious as to why so much is against them, when Congress and our oh so non leading Presidential Candidates have gone on against civil liberties and certain laws (free speech, immigration, campaign contributions) As I always say, its just one big game anyways. No matter what "party" gets elected certain things are gonna happen and its only about what the politician wants, not what is good for the country.

I personaly don't care if my president is a man, woman or even transgendered for that matter, as long as they are qualified for the job. I want to see this election run based on a cadidates qualities, not their gender.

I think this not important that your precident is either female or male, but important thing is this that how she/he handle the problems and make situations in my favour. thanks

I try to stay updated on the issue, as it grows closer I will become more and more educated with each person. However with that siad, Hillary could be the best person for the job, but people will still insist, if she wins, she won because she was a woman. So no matter what, gender will play a role some how in this. But you are right, set the gender aside as well as the race, and look that what each one has to offer. If that is to your liking, vote for that person.

You said it much better than I could. I heartily agree. The desire to control is so obvious , and we do need control, (Illegal immigration etc.) but not this females version.

It would be interesting to read how many voters elected a candidate purely on a single issue. I suspect that is more prevalent than most expect. Sad to say that most voters in National elections are not really voting qualifications, but one or two issues, such as gender, green, ethnicity, etc. For instance, the best orator doesn't necessarily make the best leader. The female candidate doesn't necessarily guarantee sucess because of her gender. The ability to plan and lead and to make those plans happen is what we should be looking for. How do we do that? Past experience and results are the criteria we should be paying the most attention to.
