Most of friends here are havinh relationship like this. and i do not think this will last forever. how can they ever handle themselves by not seeing the one they love for days, weeks, months or even years? would their love still be warm? what if you will be in this situation, what will you do? would you still trust and believe him or her that he or she will not lie or betray to you? and how will you keep your love growing? come on give me your opinion.

It depends on the sincerity of the two people involved. In India, we belong to Hindu community and now due to gobalization, millions of Indians are working abroad. Obviously the girls, educated ones who want to marry, would like to choose boys who are working abroad. They try all matrimonial bureaux and then come to online. But here again some reliable contacts they develop online relationship and when everything is alright, they really meet at a place, have face to face dialog and come to conclusion. Several such marriages have taken place in our community and it is going fine.

Hello, ssh. With the fast development of the whole world, the earth is becoming a much smaller world to all of us. We could be able to connect with anybody by using different ways of communications, especially the Internet, which enables us to reach everywhere we want to. The case you talked about so far as the relationship is concerned is the same here in China. Besides, there have been more interracial marriages with different cultures. Just in our school, we have three couples with interracial marriage and they all seem to be good marriage though.

Whatever be the development in communication, scientists have not invented a system where by being at long distance, the couple cannot have union of their bodies, only the union of mind may be possible!! Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I do hope that some day the scientist will find some resolutions to have the bodies united into one wherever they are. That would be a great idea and still lots of fun can be got from being united. lol

So far as long distance relationship is concerned, I would like to tell you something about myself. I am a family man, who works far away from my hometown, where my wife and son live. I have been working like this for tne years long since 1997, when my son was only five years old. You might wonder why. Well, I used to work in my hometown for fourteen years before I left for my present working place in the hope of living a better life. Now I am quite used to this kind of life after so many years. I am happy that I have a very nice wife, who stays at home taking very good care of my son, who is at school, and takes good care of both my parents and hers as well. As I work so far away, I cannot go back home as often as possible. You know, I work as a teacher. The greatest advantage that we teachers have is the two vacations a year, ie, the summer vacation and winter vacation. Besides, we have a seven-day-long vacation during our National Day, which begins from October 1st to 7th. We have also a long holiday on May, which is called May Day in my country. It is also around seven-day's rest. Therefore the only time that I can meet my wife is the time when we have a long vacation. Of course, sometimes I have my wife come to me for one month or so to accompany me for a better communication to enhance our feelings. What about the usual time? How do we communicate with each other? Well, we both use the Internet to talk to each other every other day and sometimes we use the video while chatting. We can get to know what is happening in these two different places. The Internet is a great bond to our communication to keep us in frequent contact. In sohrt, as to the long-distance relationship, it all depends on your own attitude towards life. Life is yours to make it. Thanks for your topic. I enjoy it.

I was in a long distance relationship for close to a year. He was going to school in Australia and I was living in Taiwan. We met in Taiwan only about three months before he went to school. We kept in touch through IM, email, webcam and phone. He came back for a short time and I went to Australia to visit. That was two years ago, we've been together a little over three years now. It does work as long as both parties are committed to it.

do you believe in friendship? based on common ideas, goals, interests etc., same way love could blossom sharing ideas and inner thoughts. It will continue as long as there is that unseen bond.

Yes I do believe it can work. For a year and a half my fiance and I lived abotu 2000km apart. But every day we would email each other or talk on the phone (big bills) so we stayed involved in each others lives. We then got married in 1999 and still are :)

I don't think that it will work for me becuase I want my love to be with me always. If he /she is far and you're not seeing each other, how sure you are that person is not cheating on you, right? I know some people who had a long distance relationship but they end up fighting on the phone and break up. I want someone to hug with and kiss so it will not work for me..

I think our love will go forever, although we are 1000 kilometers part.Because I think true love is not depend on everthing but trust. If you are don't trust her or him,in my opinion, you are not loving her or her no longer, and if her/him love you truely, you are not necessary worried about the distance of other thing. We love each other, and trust each other,so I am sure that we will love forever and our love will be warm with time goes on.If you truely love her/him,I think you should trust her/him.

The best in a relation that must have is trust.. Whether you are far from each other, you must still trust you love one.. Sometime, just like what happened to me. I lost my trust in my past girlfriend even though she don't know. Always doubt,so it reflected on me. She lost also her trust to me and our relationship did not last.=(
