I tried out Second Life and to be honest, all I got was confused as heck! I didn't know what on earth I was doing even though I was tryingt o follow tutorials and it whacked out my computer to the point where everything was jerking if I loaded it up. In the end I just uninstalled it because it wasn't worth the hassle and I'm glad I did because since then, I've been told that there is a bunch of hackers running through there and causing a bunch of trouble and dumping viruses all over it. Does anyone have more info on that because i was considering giving Second Life another go when I get my new shiny Laptop.

yeh, you need a pretty decent computer. Its comer a long way since its inception.the last version I tried ran much better and i also discovered it ran better on a linux system. It takes a while to learn your way around and your best bet is to make friends and learn from them.

Thankyou! I'm definitely looking forward to be able to try it out again, i'm just worried that what i was told about hackers and viruses was right. I don't want to go into it, build my avatar up and then find that suddenly someone has come along and destroyed all my hard work!

In fact I registered it several months ago and even paid one dollar for it. I thought it was a very funny game at the beginning. I played it but maybe my computer wasn't good enough, it was a little bit slow. And then it was crashed. After that, I don't play it again because I am not so interested in it any more.

You don't have to pay for it, this game is free of charge. But if you want to have some virtual money or other functions in Second Life, then it is better for you to pay for it. After all, one dollar isn't much to have a try.

yep, been there done that. It's not so much a game as a virtual world. Yes you can make money in it but it takes a bit and you have to get in to the right line of work there to make any large amounts of money. the big money makers there seemed to be investments andf virtual real estate. Some people made hundreds of thousands in virtual land deals. But mostly it was just good plain fun and a nice escape. Be warned though, it is VERY addicting and can consuema ll your time if you are not carefull.

Many people are making money from it. I'm making a few bucks from it by blogging about it at www.kabalyero.com but content creators do make more.

it is a good game yeah though its demandant in terms of ram and video graphics but its worth it. you earn money on the game and then you can sell it for usd, though the exchange rate isnt high last time i checked if you bought the lindon dollars it was 1000 for 4.7usd. but if you find a good earner on the game then your quids in. i reccomend it, if you join second life tell me and ill add you and help you out.

At one point on my free account I was making 200 US dollars a month making graphics for businesses in game. It was great. I started to get so many orders and whatnot I found it getting in the way of my real life job and I'm currently taking a break. Its like Sims...but endless and just full of things to do and make!
