Why hasn't the USA had a woman for President?

A woman has never been elected President in the US. Why do you think this is? Other countries don't seem to have a problem with a woman as leader of their country. What makes Americans hesitant to vote for a woman?

It beats me. As you say they have had a pretty good track record in other countries. This may seem an unsual qualification but women have proved to be able to handle many aspects in running a household i.e. financial, social, diplomacy etc. etc. with could also be applied to running a country.
