Have you ever punished your child then forgotten about it?

Over the weekend my son was really acting up and just not listening. I punished him for less than half to the day Saturday and all day Sunday. By the time Sunday morning roller around, I had forgotten about it. I noticed he was playing in his room so I asked if he wanted me to go outside and he said "No, I am punished". LOL I had completely forgotten!

That is too funny. I'm not a parent but I played one for about 14 months. (long story) Anyway, one day I took the youngest child out with me as I ran errands. She began acting up and finally I told her she would be in timeout when we got back to the house. We made one more stop after that. The moment we pulled into the driveway she asked me if she still had to go to time out. By this time I had calmed down and had totally forgotten about her misbehaving. Of course I had to tell her yes. You have to remain consistent. :-)
