Can you cry?

I am on lexapro also wellbutrin, I love the feeling I have, I feel I am finally at a place where I feel "normal". But I have noticed that I really can't cry. Not that I want to cry but at times you feel better after a good cry. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this happening to themselves.

It is good to know that the antidepressents you are on are helping you feel more grounded and normal. I know many of our clients have been rather challenged in finding the right balance with their medication. In regard to the crying...maybe the medication has something to do with it. Have you discussed it with your physician? Maybe it is a side effect. Other than that..do you have anything you feel you need to cry about? During times in my life where I felt I needed to cry...I'd put on some music associated with sad times and usually the memories would trigger a good, cleansing cry. Anyhow, this is an interesting topic...hope things continue to work out for you.

Hi, well my family and I have had a very troubling year. Some people make a false accusation against my husband and he went to jail. He is out, only had to stay the weekend. I did cry a little on the way home, but I thought I would be crying all night, I felt very depressed, and upset, and I was the same way the next day, I just sat doing nothing. I guess I feel like I should have been crying more, and I probably would have but being on the medicine prevented that I think.

I'm on Wellbutrin and lexapro (as well as topamax) and I don't have the crying fits I used to have - and certainly not as intensely, but I can still cry. I seem to get to that "objective space" a little quicker than I used to, maybe.

I was on the Wellbutrin but I cried all the time with it. since I have been on the Lexapro things seem to be better. I don't cry as easy or as often. It does help with the shakes and I sleep a lot better.
