is it true that the protestants were burnt with the emblim by the chatholic church in the early centries to show the polulation they were not of the catholic church?

The only information that I could find about Protestants being burned was between 1555-1558 300 Protestants were burned in England. I could not find any information regading if they were burned wearing a certian emblim or symbol, but they were burned due to being heretics and believing in the Catholic Church.
