There is no cure for it but you can mannage it very well with the right approach. It took me and a hole lot of different specialests to get my AS under controll and this took years as I also suffer from ALL the associated problems that sometimes go hand in hand with AS. I know that you are probably sick of every one telling you that excersise if the best way to help but they are right. There are specfic exercises that help and you should find them on the arthritis support websites for your country.

I have just been formally diagnosed with this condition, my consultant says that there is no cure for it. I have had it for several years but nobody picked up exactly what the problem was till now, I've been treated for the pain not the condition. The use of alternative medicine seems to help some people but not others so all that can be suggested is try and find out what works for you. I dont know where you are from but I use a website to get information and help in the UK http://www.nass.co.uk/ I hope this will help.

What is AS..........write some details so that people will try to help you. There are millions of people on mylot and if you will express yourself freely, I am sure someone will surely come out with valuable solution to your problem. I wish you good health. .....Take care.

I've been receiving treatment for AS for a number of years now. That being in the form of Remicade Infusions every 6 weeks. So far so good!As for alternate treatments, I know a bloke that has it as well and he's big into meditation but I'm not sure what that entails. I've unfortunately lost contact with him. There is a big group over at www.kickas.org that is a great place to discuss this. I do know there are a number there that a big into some kind of diet as they've found that what you eat can have some bearing on the symptons. Something to look into! It's a nasty ole thing to have but it can be managed. The treatment I'm receiving doesn't work for everyone but fortunately for myself, it's definitely kept me more active and pain free than I would be with out it. I know, I tried to skip it for a short period of time and got promptly reminded of my earlier days of suffering... Cheers Tim
