What is it with people who respond with comments that have nothing to do with it

Ok, I understand every comment you make on a discussion gets you money. But why respond with something that has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion? What's the point. If you come across a discussion you feel would violate the privacy of you or others that you have to comment on, WHY EVEN RESPOND? I got a comment on one of my discussions that said they wanted to protect the privacy of their loved ones so they would not comment unless it was in prayer. Then why even say anything, just move on to another discussion? I mean come on. Don't do it just read it, and if you don't have anything to say about the discussion just go to a different one that you CAN comment on. Why do people do this? Is the few cents you get for that irrelivent post THAT important? Have you ever had this happen to you? Thanks for letting me vent.

Theres always people like that who try to ruin it for others. I never had this happen to me, but i think people who do this should be reported to my lot.

That is 1 of the down sides to mylot. People dont care about what the discussion is really about. all they care about is the money they are goingto receieve by responding to your discussion. My self personally if I dont have anything to say I just dont respond to the discussion at all. I would rather skip a discussion and give a long winded response to a discussion I have an opnion on and earn more that way.

How right you are. I am the same way I will read all the way through the discussion, and if I feel passoinately about it I will respond, if not I don't.

I used to be pi$$ed off by some of these users, especially those who are with (0) post beside their names. Though their excuse are because they are newbies, I don't buy it. I sometimes think these people just come to our discussions to mess things up, to kill the threadhost's mood in discussing the topic with others and to mess the discussion as a whole. For the 9 months I've stayed here, I do my best to stay away from sensitive topics that I know I don't have anything good to say. I just read some of the discussions and maybe learn something from it, but I don't COMMENT on it as a sign of RESPECT to all those who have more meaningful things to say..

Yes, nine months and still I am under 4000. Some of those new members are fast typers and are always rich with better ideas, which I honestly lack of botht!LoL I am contented to this output of mine though, as long as I earn and learn to every post I make!;)

I am too. I may not have a lot of posts, but it is because it may take me longer to respond to one discussion with the amount of thought and care I put into each response, and the reading I do for each post.

Thank you! You know my mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say.... I always say if it isn't produstive on here, because you are intitled to your own opinion. But make sure you respect, and your comments are relivent.

Yeah, i also encounter some responses like that on my discussions and i find so non sense you know? It seems like, they came across to your discussion and suddenly, they don't really know what to answer you back or are they have any interest to answer you at all, and either they came across to your page and open your discussion but they don't wanna waste their valuable time to go back and find another discussion to respond to, that's why they are giving such responses like that, which is totally non sense. It just that, they don't wanna waste their time and take the opportunity still to post their response to your discussion coz they know that even they don't give a good response, they can still earn cent for that! That's why buddy! Have a nice day ahead from Kiko and happy posting and earning here in Mylot.

It happens. Some people are here to get a quick cent. But also, others are here to blast their opinion on one or a couple of specific topics nonstop. Yes they'll even post on discussions that are completely not in line with what they want to post about. Some even try a discussion hijack but this is usually trolls or people with a vindictive attitude toward a post or person.

disucussion hijack?? I am assuming that is when a person will try to talk about another subject in a discussion and make it theirs instead of the original one. Is that correct?

"I got a comment on one of my discussions that said they wanted to protect the privacy of their loved ones so they would not comment unless it was in prayer." LOL are you serious?! OMG thats just funny I'm sorry but it is...aggrivating yes but also quite comical... ppl who do that most likely are doing it solely for the money which is to be expected....in a way I mean for all the topics that are available in this place its not that hard to stick to convo's that you CAN respond to and make the money rather than doin something silly like that...

That's funny. And yeah I believe they are just looking to make a quick penny too.

They do this because I like candy and cookies and I love vanilla malts but they make me go to the bathroom and number 2! No but seriously though a lot of people do that just to say that they have responded to a discussion and get that penny added to their earnings. Its sad but true, but you can fight that a little by rating their responses as negative, that way they will learn because their rating will go down.

LMFAO.. You like malts... LOL That was pretty funny, and I will keep that in mind the next time I get a response that has nothing to do with the subject matter of my discussion.

Can you report it as spam? I've seen responses like that in other discussions. It's like they didn't even bother reading the topic before hitting the respond button.

Exactly, or they just read through it, and decided who cares. That really just pi$$es me off, because I feel they didn't take time to think through before responding as you said.

Hi Cariss, totally agree with you and as I posted a discussion very similiar to this and in return got a comment as the ones I was talking about just as you did. And Im sure just like everyone here has. I try to understand people and their minds, but so far unsuccessfully. So I guess its just something we have to deal with, even though deep down inside us we just cant come up with a valid reason to satisfy us! It would be nice to have control over our discussions and delete that kind of stuff ourselves. Those posts full of gibberish or one word just takes up space.

I understand completely, just taking up space is a thing that I feel some people do for the few pennies they get. I just don't understand peoples minds as you said.
