I don't press that Buzz!!! button when I chat online. It's just too demanding for me. When a person can't answer me soon, it means that he/she is busy. He/she will answer me as soon as he/she is able. But I don't Buzz!!! them. It's tacky for me. What about you?

It really depends on the person in whether or not I'll buzz them. Sometimes the person may be away from the computer but are waiting for you to come on to chat and a one time buzz will alert them that you're there. Once is enough two is being impatient and more than that is just plain ignorant.

no, i just keep patient waiting for the reply, maybe she is busy chatting with someone else, or maybe she is quite busy. one of my friends joined mylot and she is quite slow on replying when we are chatting because she is responding at mylot when we are chatting. there are a lot of reason why they reply slow.... and sometimes i reply slow too specailly when my kids ask to many questions hahaha. i press icons of yawning if they reply slow.... wink wink

There are just too many things to consider why a person can't reply soon. Let's just give them the benefit of the doubt and respect their silence. No Buzzing....

Buzz? What service do you use for sending IM's? I use AOL's AIM and don't have a buzz button. I haven't heard of this. But I would be annoyed if someone was trying to contact me via and Im service that had this. I also would never do it as you stated. They must be busy and either don't have the time, or don't wish to be bothered at this moment. So let them do whatever they are doing then contact them later. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Right gramps... They probably are too busy to response. So we need to consider that. AOL is genius enough to realized that Buzz creates annoyance to some people, maybe that's why they did not include it there, but not familiar with AOL though. I'm using the all the more familiar, YM.

If I know the person am chatting at, then I sometimes press the "buzz" button to annoy them and also to check if they are still online!LoL Honestly, I don't hit that button if I don't really know who am talking with, to avoid giving them a wrong impression.. But I haven't been much to chatting, since mylot occupies more of my internet time.

There you go, the key word is "annoy". It's annoying to Buzz anybody. I recommend you stop it even to your close friends. Cheers!

I don't also Buzz because I consider it too demanding too. I also hate being buzzed and if somebody would keep on buzzing me, i have the tendency to delete that person and ignore it totally. I also find it very rude those who buzz before they even say hi!

Buzzig without even saying Hi first; now that's the epitome of IM rudeness. Hate, hate those people.

Hi. On my Yahoo Messenger account, I have disabled all sounds, without audiables. I hate buzz, join adn exit sounds and other like this. I also hate when some one buzz me, even I don't hear them, I think it isn't necesarly to buzz me, but I think that's their habituate. In general, I don't buzz person that I am chating to, because I also don't like to be buzzed.

Thanks for giving me the word. That's what I was looking for earlier; rude. It's rude to Buzz people in IM.

I do buzz sometimes if I'm chatting with someone I'm really close with. We're are used to playing around and they buzz me too at times. But I don't buzz just about anybody because they might be doing something important or even they might be at their offices and working.

There was only one person that I have actually buzzed and that was my friend's sister. We were chatting on line one day and I kept having to step away from the computer. When I'd get back to it she had buzzed me...more than once. LOL It didn't bother me though and I sent her a few when she 'disappeared' from her computer. She did have it coming, after all. ;) LOL

I don't usually doing the buzzing thing like that also. Just use the COMMON SENSE whenever your chat mates don't reply that fast, it's either they are busy and might be chatting with their other pals online or yet they really typing terribly SLOW! LOL For me, i'll just do buzz th person that im chatting with whenever i have to say something to the person that i am chatting with, if it's really urgent, like if i really have to go and i really need to know their reply, so i'll buzz them as a sign that i am in hurry to know their response.

If you don't like how it sounds, then why do you Buzz other people then? Anyway, maybe you have your own reasons too, I don't blame you. Just use them sparingly OK?

I only use the buzz button for certain friends. For example when I lived in new york my mom kept her computer connected all the time. When she was not at her computer she would turn her speakers up that way if she was say in the kitchen I could "buzz" her and she would know that I was online.

No! I hate that thing. I have mine turned off so people can't do it to me now but they try. I really get angry when people do that to me because I am OBVIOUSLY busy and it makes me jump. I never buzz anyone but did once by mistake and apologized. I have no idea why they even put that annoying, intrusive buzzer on the messengers. Yuck.

I agree with the idea of removing that button there.
