A new house or your dream vacation?

I really need a home of my own as we rent so while it would be nic to get the Vacation I'd pick the house.

Definitely a house. A dream vacation can wait. Right now it's better for me to have my own house, esp. since we're planning to have kids in the next 2-3 years he he he he he... And you're right about saving money wisely in order to enjoy dream vacation later on. :-D

I would go for the house, but not here in my hometown, but far away from here....In BC, Canada.... My dream is to have one in both places :)

Most definitely a house, I would love to own our own home one day - I can always plan to go on that dream vacation at a later date if I save hard enough!

Ya, you are right my friend,I will also go for dream house, though i have a house of my own,and don't have to pay any rents etc.Trip to foriegn country is possible later also.I would like to do investment in house first.

i will go for the house..its pretty practical i choose the house since its so hard to own one..it may take lots and lots of things and money before i can own one..i am living in a apartment and when i think of the monthly rent i paid i have always thought i could have bought a house of my own with all those money..as for the country i wanna go with i can still go there when i have the money..its not gonna go anywhere else..stay still where it was and anytime i can go down there and have my vacation..not like the house..its a once in a lifetime opportunity so its a must i grab it..

I would love to have my own house, and don't think realistically speaking I would ever be able to, however, I've never been on a vacation either. But, after much thought about this, I think the more beneficial offer as you mentioned would be to own my own home, and save using the home i.e. renting it out to take the vacation. Who said you can't have both. LOL

I would definitely pick the house! For travel, after that month is over - you don't have anything (other than memories of course). But with a house, you have something to show for it - a place to live, an investment, equity. Not to mention that with a free house, you could easily save up the money that would otherwise be spent on a mortgage, and travel with that if you'd like. The house just seems like a way better value to me!
