I believe in God and keep a personal relationship with Him. It's just that I don't go to church anymore. Am I still considered religious? When people ask me if I'm religious, I' really cannot answer. What do you think?

I used to think of myself as religious, believing in the Buddha. Then again, I started to read the Christian Bible and also found the divinity in Christ. Likewise, when I started dealing with Muslims in the working world, I also found equally God Fearing people amongst that community as well. It was at that moment I realise that it was not so much a case of what we called God but how we realated to God. Spirituality and religion had become two different things in my mind. God was certainly greater than the forms of religion that man created.

A lot of people would consider you more spiritual than religious, because you focus on the personal relationship rather than church. But other people use the word religion to cover both of those stances, so really it's up to you to decide whether you want to call yourself "religious". I consider myself a very religious person, and yet other people often claim I am not because I am not a part of a religion they know or understand. There are some among my friends who call themselves "spiritual" and see "religious" as almost a bad word, having connotations of focusing more on doctrine that the personal relationship with your deity or deities. I suppose I just choose to use the word "religious" because I believe I am both religious AND spiritual. My religion is very strict, I do have very specific ways I do things, and a very specific belief system. So I continue to consider myself "religious" even when people argue with me about it. =P

i'm not a religious, but i have a belief. sometimes it is a good for someone to believe a religion, then he/she can have a direction. if all crimes can believe a religion, then i dont think they can become crimes. for me, i believe i will have a happy life, so i work hard to find it. and i know i must meet some difficulties, so i can bear them. they are just test in the road of seeking for happiness.

As long as you believe in your maker and do things to show it to him then you are religious. I am not that religious thing, I am not like others who goes to church everyday or every sunday, but I see to it that I recite the rosary everyday, and go to church at least once a week or on church obligation. And how do I do that, i am working, along the way in going to work I read this moments with god booklet, all the prayers that you need, and when I go home thats my time to recite my rosary. It is my way of saying thank you lord for the day, thanks for the blessings, and sorry for the sins I have committed, thats it, and I think I am also religious on my own way.

I think that you are what you think yourself to be. I am not Religious, but I do have spiritual beliefs. As far as I am concerned, Religion isn't about attending church and going about preaching to others - it's about your own personal beliefs. =D
